Matthew 13:44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Reflection
Jesus is the treasure worth giving everything up for. It seems difficult to comprehend at first, that God would want us to lay down everything we cherish, such as our families, our savings, and our own lives, to follow Him. But what God is telling us that by choosing Him first, He will be able to take care of our lives for us. Jesus is the treasure we need. Without him, nothing can give us peace. Our families, our material possessions, and our accomplishments can’t fill the void that Heavenly treasure can.
